This year we can’t have the traditional lunch hosted by Coastal Seafoods, but we can still meet virtually to get an update about homelessness in our city. For many years at that lunch we have heard from the staff at St. Stephen’s Street Outreach Team, and from the American Indian Community Development Corp, and the funds raised by the lunch go to support their organizations. Both groups are very involved in helping the homeless population find services and shelter, and this year that need has been greater than ever. With the tough economy and COVID keeping people away from shelters, we’ve seen encampments in many city parks this summer and the return of the Forgotten Wall of Natives at Franklin and Hiawatha this fall. Zoom in to hear from these service providers about the state of homelessness in Minneapolis, hear what’s next, and ask questions.

While we won’t hold an in person lunch to raise funds, we hope you’ll still make a donation to St. Stephens Human Services  and the American Indian Community Development Corporation (AICDC) to support their work with the homeless. Your support is more needed than ever, so please give generously! You can either give online, or mail a check. Visit the websites for mailing information.
