Jim Welna, Co-owner of Welna II Hardware & Paint
Jim and his wife Sue have owned and operated Welna II Hardware & Paint for 18 years. Jim also has over 25 years experience in the public and private sector managing both large and small operations. He has recruited and hired hundreds of employees during his career. Jim will share tips on what has worked best in attracting and retaining great employees.
Liz Liddiard Wozniak, Human Resources Manager at Seward Co-op
Liz became interested in whole foods and sustainable practices as a teenager. She has had a long career in cooperative grocery, starting in Seward’s earliest incarnation in 1991. She has been Human Resources Manager at Seward Co-op for the last 17 years. During that time Seward has gone through tremendous growth, currently employing 350 employees in three locations in South Minneapolis, Minnesota. As part of planning for expansion Seward developed a strategic initiative to increase diversity and inclusivity in all of our locations. Seward currently employs 36% employees of color, an increase from 14% in June of 2014.
Meghan O’Brien-Hanson, Director of Employment Services at RESOURCE, Inc.
Meghan has been with RESOURCE for 15 years. With a degree in developmental needs Meghan has worked within workforce development for over 18 years, providing job placement and employment supports to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
